Wagers on French racetracks are generally submitted into the French tote pools which means that French wagering rules apply to those wagers.
Please note that coupled entries are coupled for WIN wagering ONLY. Entries are uncoupled for all other wager types (including place). Therefore, unlike American entries, the coupled horses will have separate program numbers. Our odds display will show the win odds as if the horses were uncoupled. This means the actual win payout may be significantly less, but it also means a win bet on a losing horse could still pay out if the other coupled horse wins. Players need to take this into account when they wager on any coupled horses.
Additionally, an owner who has a 25% or more share in 2 or more horses in the same race, irrespective of trainer, must run his horses "Ecurie" (French term for "coupled for WIN purposes only). A trainer with 2 or more horses in the same race, irrespective of owner, can declare these as running in "Ecurie", however this is not mandatory.
